A secondary based in Oldham is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding Lead to join their safeguarding team. In this vital role, you will work closely with our safeguarding and pastoral staff to uphold the safety, well-being, and educational development of all students.
The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, resilience, and a strong commitment to supporting young people in reaching their full potential. As a key team player, you will develop effective relationships with students, parents, carers, colleagues, and partner organisations, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school environment


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, supporting the safeguarding team in ensuring the welfare and safety of all students.
  • Work alongside the pastoral team to monitor and address student needs, applying safeguarding procedures and promoting a safe school culture.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and partner organisations, ensuring open communication and consistent support.
  • Collaborate with staff to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of safeguarding practices within the school
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a safeguarding role within an educational or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and procedures, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting young people in achieving their full potential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to promote a positive school culture.
