We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for a motivated and experienced Director of Learning for Science at an established Academy in Blackpool, FY4. This role is suited to a dedicated educational leader who is ready to take the next step in their career and shape the future of Science education at the school.

About the Role: As Director of Learning for Science, you will lead and manage the Science department, ensuring that high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement are maintained. This is a key leadership role, and you will be responsible for overseeing the curriculum, supporting staff development, and driving improvements in Science education across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Science department and ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and challenging Science curriculum.
  • Monitor student progress and use data to drive improvements in outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teachers within the department.
  • Lead staff training and professional development initiatives within Science.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with whole-school objectives.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven leadership experience in a secondary school setting, ideally within a Science department.
  • Strong understanding of the Science curriculum and how to effectively drive improvements in teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for Science and a commitment to improving educational outcomes for all students.
