Role Description:

As a Drama Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding drama education to students aged 11 to 16. Your expertise and enthusiasm will inspire a love for the performing arts, allowing students to explore their creativity, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. You will deliver engaging and stimulating lessons, incorporating a variety of teaching methodologies, practical activities, and performance opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality drama lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage students to develop their acting skills, express themselves confidently, and explore their artistic potential.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and a passion for drama.
  • Support students in their preparation for performances, auditions, and exams, providing constructive feedback and guidance.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with relevant experience teaching Drama at secondary level.
  • A passion for drama education and a strong understanding of the national curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience in directing and organising school productions would be advantageous.
