About the Role:

The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing students' acting skills, understanding of theatre principles, and appreciation of dramatic arts. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2024.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create comprehensive lesson plans that inspire students and align with the national curriculum.
  • Practical Sessions: Conduct hands-on drama workshops, teaching essential performance skills and techniques.
  • Assessment: Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead or support drama clubs and school productions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and share best practices.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold a valid QTS certification.
  • Relevant Degree: A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience teaching Drama at the secondary school level is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Teaching: Demonstrate a passion for the subject and for teaching young people.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
