Are you a recent graduate in Design and Technology (DT) looking to kickstart your career in education? Our partner secondary school in Oldham is seeking a passionate and dedicated DT graduate to join their team as a Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school environment with the potential to transition into a teacher training programme.

  • Classroom Supervision: Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and complete pre-set work.
  • Support Learning: Assist in DT lessons, helping to deliver engaging theoretical and practical sessions to students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Behaviour Management: Manage student behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Development Opportunity: After a successful placement, there is the potential to transition into a teacher training programme with the school to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • DT Graduate: Recent graduate with a degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
  • Passion for Education: Enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to inspire students.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Behaviour Management: Confident in managing classroom behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and able to adapt to different teaching environments and student needs.
  • DBS Certificate: Holds a valid DBS certificate or is willing to apply for one.
