EAL Teaching Assistant – Manchester

Do you have experience working with students learning English as an additional language? We are searching for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) in a secondary school in Manchester.

Position Overview:

  • Start Date: Immediate (full-time role starting in September)
  • Key Duties:
    • Support students struggling with English by offering in-class assistance
    • Monitor student behaviour, ensuring adherence to school policies
    • Provide 1:1 or small group interventions for students who need additional help
    • Assist in developing resources tailored to EAL students’ needs
    • Work closely with teachers to identify students requiring extra support

Skills Required:

  • Experience with EAL students or transferable skills that apply
  • Ability to manage classroom dynamics and provide additional guidance as needed
  • Strong communication and resource creation skills

Compensation:

  • £400 - £500 per week, depending on experience
