English Graduate Teaching Assistant - Full-Time in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Levenshulme as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time position starting in October and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent depending on performance. The pay for this role is between £419.25 and £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students and teachers to support learning in English. You will provide targeted assistance to students both in the classroom and in small group or one-on-one settings. This role is ideal for an English graduate looking to gain valuable experience in education, especially if you're considering a career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in delivering English lessons by providing support to students who may require extra help understanding the material
• Work with small groups of students to improve their literacy skills, including reading comprehension, writing, and vocabulary
• Provide one-on-one support to students who may need additional help with English assignments or exam preparation
• Help plan and deliver interventions aimed at improving student literacy and confidence in English
• Support classroom management and ensure a positive learning environment is maintained
• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and helping adjust learning strategies when needed
• Assist in preparing lesson materials, marking work, and offering feedback to students to aid their development
• Provide support for students during English exams and assessments, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed
• Work closely with the school's English department to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to meet their full potential
• Engage with students to help foster a love for reading and literature, creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment

Candidate Requirements:

• A degree in English or a related subject is essential
• A passion for education and helping students develop their skills in English
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students of varying abilities
• The ability to build strong relationships with students and staff, providing positive encouragement and support
• A proactive and adaptable approach to working in a school environment
• Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting, is desirable but not essential
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
