Are you a passionate English graduate with a flair for inspiring young minds? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy supporting students’ learning journeys? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Cover Supervisor at our vibrant secondary school in Caerphilly.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining continuity of education during teacher absences. While no two days are the same, your primary responsibilities will include:

-          Supervising and engaging students in KS3 and KS4 across a range of subjects, including English.

-          Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive, focused learning environment.

-          Delivering pre-set work and supporting students in their completion of tasks.

-          Acting as a positive role model, inspiring a love for learning and ensuring pupils achieve their potential.

-          Supporting the pastoral care of students and promoting their wellbeing.

-          This role is ideal for a recent English graduate who is looking to gain experience in a school environment, whether you're considering a future in teaching or simply looking for a rewarding role within education.

About you:

We are seeking a motivated individual with a degree in English (or a related subject) who has a genuine passion for education. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging students from diverse abilities and backgrounds. You should possess a confident, professional manner and be able to manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment. A flexible and adaptable attitude is essential, as you'll be managing a variety of classes and subjects. While previous experience working with young people is beneficial, it is not essential—enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key.
