Are you passionate about English and eager to support secondary school students in their learning journey? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in South Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with students and teachers to enhance the educational experience and outcomes in English language and literature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in English language and literature.
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Support the classroom teacher in managing student behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Help students develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Contribute to the creation of educational materials and resources.
  • Participate in school events and extracurricular activities related to the English department.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in English, with a minimum of a degree in English or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with secondary school students, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, supportive, and positive attitude.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
