We are currently supporting a Secondary School in Chelmsford to recruit an English Teacher for a September 2024 start. Full time position.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join an excellent English Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging English language and literature lessons to students in KS 3 and 4. The ideal candidate will foster a love for reading and writing, and help students develop critical thinking and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the school's curriculum and standards.
  • Prepare and deliver stimulating English lessons using diverse instructional methods and resources.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues about student progress and needs.
  • Participate in department meetings, school functions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Encourage students to engage in extracurricular literary activities such as book clubs, writing contests, and drama productions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification or license in English (if applicable).
  • Proven experience in teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Deep knowledge of English literature, language arts, and contemporary educational practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a motivating and supportive classroom environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest educational trends.
