Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Wimborne, Dorset

Salary: £30,000 - £44,870 per annum 

Contract: Full time, Permanent

 

Teaching Personnel Permanent Workforce Team are currently partnered with a UK wide SEN Trust, who we are assisting with searching for a Secondary Qualified English Teacher in the Dorset area, who is experienced in teaching Entry Level 2 up to GCSE English. You will be working with students aged 11 - 16 years old, who suffer with ASC/SEMH Needs, such as autism, as well as specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia. ECTs are encouraged to apply for this role!

 

Key Duties:

  • Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain and use short, medium and long term plans in delivering the curriculum.
  • Set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
  • Monitor, assess, review and report on the progress and work of students to parents, team members, senior staff, examination and funding bodies through reports and identified meetings as directed and as is required through school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge through training and research where appropriate and take responsibility for own professional development.

 

Requirements:

  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
  • Ability to teach English from Entry Level 2 up to GCSE 
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH and PDA profile
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
