SEN English teacher

Teaching Personnel is seeking to recruit a Teacher for English for a mixed primary and secondary SEN school based in Preston. The school caters for predominately pupils who have SEN, mainly ASD. All pupils follow the national curriculum which has been suitably adapted to meet the needs of each pupil. Every pupil who attends this school has an EHCP which must be adhered to.

As a Teacher in this provision you will need to display strong behaviour management practices and engage all pupils in your class. You must be able to differentiate lesson plans to suit the pupils ECHP and also liaise with all support staff to ensure a whole support network is in place for all pupils. You must also be resilient, nurturing and have an innovative teaching style.

Naturally, you will take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices, including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity and will be expected to work in partnership with all school staff, parents, carers and other agencies in providing for the academic, spiritual, moral, social, emotional and cultural well-being of students and their families.

This is a full-time Teaching Post and the successful candidate will be expected to work 40 hours a week.

The Successful applicant:

  • ECTs (NQTs), RQTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
  • Specialist English or Maths knowledge.
  • Primary and/ or Secondary teaching experience will be considered.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and innovative lessons of an excellent standard.
  • Consistently implement the school’s strong behavioural strategy.
  • Establish positive pupil/ parent relationships with ease.
