Teaching Personnel are working with an inclusive and caring secondary school in Gosport who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Mark, assess and provide constructive feedback on students' work to support their academic progress and development.
  • Create an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that supports all student's needs and encourages a love for reading, writing and critical thinking.
  • Monitor and track student progress, ensuring that each student reaches their individual goals.
  • Develop differentiated lesson plans to cater to varying learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum and share best teaching practices.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, parent consultations, and other school events as needed.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos of respect, care, ambition, and aspiration for all.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification in English.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for teaching English and a commitment to inspiring student's love for literature, language and communication.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment.
  • The ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • School-based references from recent employers.
