Are you passionate about making a difference in young people's lives? Do you have the dedication to inspire and support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join our team at a secondary SEMH provision in Darwen.

As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 10-16 who require tailored educational and emotional support. Your creative and adaptive teaching style will help engage and motivate students, fostering a love for literature and language while addressing their individual learning needs.

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes both academic achievement and personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting self-confidence and resilience.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialization in English.
  • Experience working in a secondary school environment, ideally within SEMH or special educational needs settings.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and a commitment to supporting the holistic development of each student.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
