Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join one of our excellent partner secondary schools in Middleton. This is a full-time maternity cover position starting after the October half-term, offering an exciting opportunity to inspire students and make a lasting impact in their educational journey.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and dynamic English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students to achieve their full potential in this core subject. You will be covering a maternity leave, so commitment and adaptability are key to ensuring the continuity of learning for the students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to varying levels of ability.
  • Ensure that students are engaged, challenged, and supported in achieving their target grades.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to students on their progress.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other members of the department to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery.
  • Prepare students for GCSE exams, providing them with the tools and confidence to succeed.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive educational experience for all students.
  • Able to start after October half-term and commit to the full maternity cover period.
