We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Secondary English Teacher to join an established department in one of our secondary schools in Gosport. Applicants must be fluent English speakers with qualified Teaching Status and be able to work efficiently as part of a team. The successful applicant will be delivering the English curriculum to Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary.

The successful candidate must have experience in preparing learners for success in one or more of the following: GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A-Level examinations. He/She may also be allocated Form Tutor duties and so excellent communication and organisations skills are important. 

All applicants must be able to attend in-person interviews and a demonstration session session(s). 

For this position we will require a minimum of:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • A PGCE or FE PGCE.
  • At least two years' experience as a Secondary Subject-Specialist Teacher in a British school, teaching First Language English following the National Curriculum for England or the Cambridge International curriculum. 
  • Experience in preparing learners for success.
  • Experience in working with learners for whom English is a second or additional language is favourable. 
  • Excellent communication, organisation, interpersonal and time-management skills. 
  • Availability to start in September 2021 and commitment for at least one academic year.
