English Intervention Specialist needed at a Secondary School in South Manchester

Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School in Old Trafford, who are looking for a part-time English Learning Support Assistant to join their team in the new academic year.

This role will start after the summer holiday, in September and will run 3 days a week (any outstanding applicants with 2 days a week availability will still be considered). The weekdays at school can be flexible. Working hours will be from 9am to 3pm.

Role highlights:

-          No marking or planning responsibilities, flexible part-time role.

-          Pay up to £100 per day, depending on experience.

-          School with secure car park and good public transport links

-          Supporting students on a 1:1 basis, with English specifically

The role itself will involve supporting KS4 students on a 1:1 basis with English. It is essential that candidates are approachable and patient in order to connect with students from a variety of different backgrounds, at different levels. Applicants should have previous experience taking on Tutor and/or Intervention responsibilities.  

It is essential that candidates are flexible and organised so that they can offer high levels of academic support and also provide feedback on progress and development to the senior leadership team at the school.

Essential candidate requirements:

-          The ability to be flexible and work closely with English Department to identify and help those students that need additional support.

-          It is essential that applicants are approachable and able to build relationships and connect with students in a short space of time.

All applicants will require appropriate qualifications/experience and the Right to Work in the UK in order to be considered for this role. In addition, applicants must have an enhanced DBS (or be willing to pay for an updated one) and provide an Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and 2 professional references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
