English Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the English Department at a client secondary school based in Old Trafford, starting in January. The successful candidate will be working closely with the schools talented teaching staff to support students in KS3 and KS4.

The school is based in the heart of Stretford, is very accessible for candidates using public transport, being only a short walk away from the nearest bus/tram stops. There is also a large onsite car park that staff members can utilize.

The successful applicant can expect to receive up to £15.90 per hour, depending on experience. The school also provides professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to students who require additional assistance with their English work
• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and activities to small groups of students
• Mark and feedback students' work, providing constructive comments to aid their understanding
• Support students with their homework and revision, both individually and in small groups
• Collaborate with other teaching assistants and staff members to ensure the smooth running of the departments

Requirements:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Tutor in a secondary school setting
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for English Language and Literature at Key Stages 3 and 4
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm and passion for supporting students in their learning
