English Tutor – School based

Teaching Personnel are working with a vibrant secondary school dedicated to fostering an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Our client school are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Tutor to join their team starting in November. The successful candidate will work 121 with a student, providing tailored support to enhance their understanding of language/literature and improve their overall performance in the subject.

This position will run from November until December initially, with potential to extend until July 2025. The successful tutor will work 121 with the student at school for 2 hours 4 days per week. The pay for this role will be between £30-£40 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions focused on English.
  • Develop personalized lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of the student.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align tutoring sessions with the curriculum.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence in English.
  • Assist students in preparing for exams, including GCSEs and other assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status - English.
  • Previous experience in tutoring or teaching English at the secondary level is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
