Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School (SEMH) in the Gateshead area, who are looking for a Enhanced Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is a full-time position starting January 2024, with the potential to be extended into the full academic year and result in a permanent position with the school for the right educator.

The school’s are looking for someone who will become a proactive SEMH team member and is able to contribute to the positive ethos of the school.The role requires the successful applicant to supporting children on a 1:1 in their social and academic development and effectively manage their behaviour so there is emphasis on patience and excellent behaviour management skills.

The successful applicant will be expected to work with children across the school where necessary. This is a brilliant opportunity to gain experience and to further expand your teaching career with a supportive and motivating team!

The successful applicant must:

• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
• Have experience working in SEMH environments
• Be able to work effectively with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Have experience working with pupils who display challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
