About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cover Supervisor to join our team in Liverpool. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school day by supervising classes during teacher absences. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about education who have experience managing classrooms and delivering pre-set work across various subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task with their work.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and manage student behaviour in accordance with the school's policy.
  • Assist with the setting up of activities and supporting students where necessary.
  • Act as a role model and set high expectations for students.
  • Provide feedback to the regular class teacher on student progress and any issues encountered.
  • Support the school in other capacities as required, including assisting with exam invigilation or other administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • A good understanding of the UK curriculum across key stages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to manage a diverse range of students.
  • A degree is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered with the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
