Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are looking for a dedicated and Experienced Teaching Assistant to join our school in Ystrad Mynach. If you have experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Emotional Behaviour, this role could be for you!

 

The Role:

  • Position: Full-Time Experienced Teaching Assistant
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5 days per week
  • Salary: £86.40 per day

 

Duties:

  • Support pupils with ASD, MLD, PMLD, and Emotional Behaviour on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis.
  • Work across a range of age groups from Reception to Secondary.
  • Adapt to changing environments while providing tailored support.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Embody the school's ethos and culture, serving as a positive role model.
  • Promote independence and provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for children with Autism, Speech and Language needs, and Challenging Behaviour.
  • Foster a nurturing environment where students feel valued and included.
  • Work closely with class teachers to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Be flexible and willing to assist both inside and outside the classroom, including providing personal care when needed.
  • Previous experience as a support worker, care worker, or psychology graduate is advantageous.
