The role
Are you resilient, solution focussed and passionate about working with children with additional needs? This job could be for you! This provision finds that candidates with a background of Police Forces hold strong, relevant skills that work well with their children who have a variety of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Children are aged 6-14 who have a range of additional needs including challenging behaviour, ADHD, ASC or speech and language impediments. You must be resilient and must be able to remain calm when approaching challenging behaviour. You must provide a positive and forward-thinking approach to education and must have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with pupils. Pupils are often taken offsite for outdoor activities so you must be willing to engage in these activities and must have a pro-active approach at all times.
The school
This excellent SEMH/SEN mixed provision has excellent facilities such as therapy rooms, nurture rooms and a therapy dog which all aid a smooth and positive school experience for all students. Pupils are encouraged to access a full curriculum tailored to their individual needs, with an aim to engage children who have faced barriers to learning and experienced a negative school experience. They provide regular “break-outs” for pupils to access interventions and alternative activities which all aid with their general learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
