Job Opportunity: 1:1 EYFS Support Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive team starting from September 2024. As a 1:1 EYFS Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalized assistance to a non-verbal child who relies on Makaton for communication within the EYFS setting. The rate of pay is competitive at £12.90 – £13.50/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer one-on-one support and guidance to the non-verbal child, promoting their active participation in classroom activities.
  • Utilize Makaton to facilitate communication and understanding between the child and their peers and educators.
  • Collaborate closely with the EYFS team to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching techniques and strategies to meet the unique needs of the child, ensuring their progress and development.
  • Encourage the child's social and emotional growth, fostering positive interactions with others.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding to provide a caring and supportive environment for the child.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents/caregivers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
