Job Description:

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join the dedicated team at an average-sized primary school in Bootle (L30). The successful candidate will work closely with the EYFS teachers to support the learning and development of children aged 3-5 years. You will play a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Learning Activities: Assist in the planning and delivery of a range of educational activities that promote the development of literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional well-being.
  • Individual and Group Support: Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, adapting activities to meet their specific needs and abilities.
  • Observation and Assessment: Observe and record children’s progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the assessment and planning process.
  • Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive and well-organised classroom environment, managing resources and ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils.
  • Parent Communication: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, sharing information about children’s progress and well-being.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in early years education.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting, preferably within an EYFS framework.
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and the developmental needs of young children.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attributes: A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with children. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
