We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized Food Technology Assistant to support the smooth running of food technology lessons in schools across Liverpool and the surrounding areas. Position Overview:
As a Food Technology Assistant, you will provide essential support to the Food Technology Teacher, helping to prepare lesson materials, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe and hygienic environment for students. You will play a key role in assisting students during practical cooking sessions and managing the classroom setup.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for food technology lessons.
  • Assist the teacher with demonstrations and support students during practical cooking sessions.
  • Ensure that health and safety standards, as well as food hygiene regulations, are maintained in the classroom.
  • Help with cleaning and organizing equipment and workspaces after lessons.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of ingredients and supplies, and assist in ordering materials.
  • Provide general classroom support and help students develop their cooking skills and confidence.
  • Support students in understanding food preparation techniques, nutrition, and kitchen safety.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a food technology or kitchen environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations is advantageous (Food Hygiene Certificate is a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to provide guidance and support to students.
  • A passion for food education and practical learning.
