A highly reputable independent SEN school in Windsor is seeking a dedicated and passionate Food Technology Teacher to join their permanent staff team from September 2024. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an esteemed institution committed to providing exceptional education and support to students with special educational needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Food Technology lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4. They will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment, encouraging creativity, and supporting students in developing essential life skills. The teacher will work closely with other staff members to ensure that the educational needs of all students are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to engage and inspire students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the school's reporting and assessment processes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Food Technology or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4 levels, preferably within an SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in SEN education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with educational best practices.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning for SEN students.
  • Knowledge of various teaching methods and techniques suited to different learning needs.
  • Passion for promoting healthy eating and cooking skills among young people.
