An esteemed SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School Group, renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional education and support to students with special needs, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join their permanent staff at their independent special school located in Windsor. This opportunity is available from September 2024.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative Food Technology lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students. The role requires a passion for teaching, a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive Food Technology curriculum that meets the individual needs of students.
  • Create an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for the subject.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement strategies to support students with SEMH needs.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to in the food technology classroom.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) and a degree in Food Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology, ideally in a special school or SEMH setting.
  • A deep understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to adapt teaching methods to support diverse learning styles.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
  • Enhanced DBS check and other relevant safeguarding clearances.
