Job Opportunity: Fully Qualified Secondary School Music Teacher/Curriculum Leader

Location: Ellesmere Port
Position: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and scale
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join a high achieving secondary school in Ellesmere Port. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to inspire the next generation of musicians and nurture their talent within a supportive and creative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons across Key Stages 3-4 (KS5 experience is an advantage)
  • Foster a love for music, encouraging students to develop their performance, composition, and listening skills
  • Lead and support extracurricular music activities, such as choir, orchestra, and school performances
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level music exams, ensuring high academic standards
  • Collaborate with other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Promote creativity, confidence, and collaboration through music education
  • Contribute to the wider school community and events

Essential Requirements:

  • Fully qualified teacher status (QTS) in the UK
  • Degree in Music or a related subject
  • Experience teaching music at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the UK curriculum
  • Develop the Music curriculum in a high achieving school
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to student progress and achievement
  • A passion for music and a creative, energetic approach to teaching

Desirable Skills:

  • Ability to teach additional instruments or vocal coaching
  • Experience leading music groups or school productions
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work well within a team
