Job Title: GCSE English and Maths LAC Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Chelmsford

Job Type: Temporary, expected to work full-time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 per hour

 

Job Duties:

- Provide tailored tutoring in GCSE English and Maths to Looked After Children (LAC)

- Develop and implement individualised learning plans based on students' needs

- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and their guardians

- Collaborate with school staff and social workers to support students' educational goals

- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student achievements

Required Qualifications:

- A degree in Education or related field

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) -

Enhanced DBS check

Education:

- Degree in Education or related field

Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience, preferably with LAC

- Experience developing individualised learning plans

Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong knowledge of the GCSE English and Maths curriculum

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to engage and motivate students

- Understanding of the challenges faced by Looked After Children

Preferred Qualifications:

- Specialisation in supporting LAC students

- Training in safeguarding and child protection

Working Conditions:

- Work in a home tutoring environment

- Flexible hours may be required to accommodate students' schedules

- Travel to different locations within the East of England may be necessary

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
