General Cover Supervisor

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint pro-active individuals who are keen to pursue a career in education for the role of a Cover Supervisor across Preston, Lancashire.

Flexible contracts and start dates available.

This role is ideal for recent Graduates who are looking to embark on Initial Teacher Training. This role will provide you with first hand exposure to working in a school setting. Your main role will be to provide full support to both staff and students in school, and the successful candidates will ensure the good behaviour of students and ensure they are engaging in their learning during short-term absence of teachers. Cover work will be supplied wherever possible for you to use as a basis for the lessons and we will also determine your subject specialisms with you as a preference.

Excellent inter-personal skills are required for this post as our successful candidates need to demonstrate that they can build good rapport with staff and students alike.

Previous experience within an educational environment is desirable, however not essential as full training will be provided.

Principal Accountabilities:

-          Supervise students engaged in learning activities to ensure that the learning objectives set by the teacher are achieved also ensuring inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom in order to promote equal opportunities.

-          Ensure the objectives are achieved by the students within a safe and secure environment.

-          Give clear instructions for the lesson provided by the teacher ensuring that learning outcomes are achieved.

-          Participate in training and other learning activities as required and attend relevant meetings to ensure your own continuing professional development
