Are you a Newly Qualified Teacher, a PGCE Graduate, or an Early Career Teacher looking for a flexible and rewarding role? A school across the Oldham and Rochdale area is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated cover teachers to join their team. This role is ideal for teachers at the beginning of their career, offering the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a variety of classroom settings, working across different subjects and year groups.
As a Cover Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of learning for students in the absence of their regular teacher. This is a great opportunity to develop your teaching skills, build professional relationships, and gain exposure to different teaching styles and environments.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across a variety of subjects and key stages, ensuring students remain on track with their learning
  • Follow lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all students, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
  • Maintain effective behaviour management, ensuring that all students are engaged and adhering to school policies
  • Work flexibly, stepping into classrooms as needed and collaborating with other staff members to support the wider school community
  • Provide feedback on student progress and any issues encountered during lessons
 
Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), NQT, PGCE, or ECT status
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to different learning environments
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to maintaining high standards of education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and a positive, proactive attitude to covering lessons across various subjects
