Location: Primary School in Preston 

Position: Full-Time General KS1 Teaching Assistant 

Hours: 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday 

Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a General KS1 Teaching Assistant at a welcoming primary school in Preston.

Role Overview:

As a General KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of children in Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7). Working closely with class teachers, you will assist in delivering engaging lessons, supporting individual students, and ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Support class teachers in delivering lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum.

-          Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them with reading, writing, numeracy, and other subjects.

-          Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources.

-          Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and helping to tailor support to individual needs.

-          Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.

-          Supervise and support children during playtime, lunchtime, and other activities.

-          Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the well-being and academic progress of all students.

Requirements:

-          Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.

-          A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.

-          Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.

-          Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.

-          Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or child development are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
