About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at a secondary school in the Preston area. The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment for students aged 11-16.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of lessons across various subjects.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help.
  • Supervise students during class activities, breaks, and school events.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Support the development and implementation of educational programs and activities.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as preparing teaching materials and marking assignments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student progress and well-being.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role within a secondary school setting is essential.
  • A passion for education and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behavior.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or child development are desirable.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
