Are you a passionate Geography ECT ready to make a positive impact in the classroom? We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Early Career Teachers (ECTs) of Geography to join a thriving secondary school in Oldham, known for its supportive environment and dedication to student success.

About the Role:

As a Geography ECT, you will have the opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to develop a deep understanding of the world around them. You will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that bring the subject to life, encouraging students to explore and appreciate the complexities of geography.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage and challenge students of varying abilities.
  • Develop and implement creative lesson plans that align with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and take advantage of mentoring opportunities to enhance your teaching practice.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recently qualified Geography Teacher (ECT) with QTS or in the process of obtaining it.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography, with the ability to make the subject accessible and engaging for students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Effective classroom management skills, with a focus on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • A proactive approach to professional development and a willingness to contribute to the school community.
  • A valid DBS check registered with the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
