An Ofsted rated GOOD Academy in Northfield, Birmingham, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Geography to join their permanent staff starting from September 2024. Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold QTS and have experience in teaching Geography at secondary school level.
  2. Relevant Degree: A degree in Geography or a related field.
  3. Experience: Proven experience in teaching Geography, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  4. Subject Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and a commitment to staying current with educational developments.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  6. Classroom Management: Effective classroom management skills to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  7. Passion and Enthusiasm: A genuine passion for Geography and for teaching, with a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
  8. Professional Development: Commitment to continuous professional development and willingness to engage in training and collaborative learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them improve.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active student participation.
  • Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Support the wider school community through involvement in extra-curricular activities and school events.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Geography curriculum and best practices in teaching and learning.
