An Ofsted rated GOOD secondary school in Bristol is seeking a motivated and dedicated Teacher of Geography to join their permanent staff starting from September 2024. Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold QTS and have experience teaching Geography at the secondary level.
  2. Relevant Degree: A degree in Geography or a related field.
  3. Experience: Proven experience teaching Geography to Key Stages 3, 4, and ideally 5.
  4. Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Geography curriculum and assessment requirements.
  5. Passion for Subject: Enthusiasm for Geography and the ability to inspire students with a love for the subject.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  7. Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  8. Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in school-wide initiatives.
  9. Safeguarding: Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting appropriate targets.
  • Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and participate in departmental planning and activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Engage with parents and carers to provide regular updates on student progress and address any concerns.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development opportunities.
