This role focuses on delivering high-quality geography education to students, fostering a love for the subject and helping them achieve academic success.

The Geography Teacher will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective geography lessons to secondary school students.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting a passion for geography.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events.
  • Support students in their preparation for examinations and coursework.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Geography or a related field.
  • Experience teaching geography at the secondary school level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring young people.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
