A well-regarded secondary school in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Geography to join their team. The school, rated GOOD by Ofsted, prides itself on providing a supportive and enriching environment for both students and staff.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Geography lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school activities.
  • Engage with continuous professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Geography at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider school community.

Desirable:

  • Experience with GCSE Geography curriculum.
  • Knowledge of current educational developments and best practices.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities related to Geography.
