A highly reputable secondary school located in the heart of Kensington is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join their permanent staff from September 2024.

Position: Geography Teacher
Contract: Part Time, Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS, Dependent on experience
Start Date: September 2024
Location: Kensington, London


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following the National Curriculum and ensuring a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of the Geography curriculum, ensuring lessons are engaging and cater to a range of learning styles.
  • Provide pastoral support to students, fostering a positive and respectful classroom culture.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and school events as required.


Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): The candidate must hold QTS and have a proven track record of teaching Geography at secondary level.
  • Relevant Degree: A degree in Geography or a closely related field is essential.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in teaching Geography at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Passion for Geography: The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for Geography and a commitment to inspiring students to explore the subject in depth.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: A collaborative approach to working within a team, contributing positively to the wider school community.


Desirable:

  • Experience with extracurricular activities related to Geography, such as field trips or clubs.
  • Familiarity with the latest educational technologies and their application in the classroom.
