You’ll work closely with experienced educators, learning the ropes in a supportive and dynamic environment.

  • Student Support: Provide tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in classroom settings, under the guidance of qualified teachers and the SENCO.

  • Implement IEPs: Assist in delivering individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies to ensure students receive the personalised support they need.

  • Adapt Learning Materials: Help students access the curriculum by adapting materials and offering additional guidance to enhance their understanding.

  • Foster Positive Relationships: Build strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage engagement, participation, and independence in learning activities.

  • Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists, contributing valuable observations and insights to support student progress.

  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all students feel valued and supported.

  • Passion for Special Education: A genuine interest in working with children and young people with Autism and other special educational needs.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

  • Patience and Empathy: The ability to stay calm and empathetic, especially when supporting students who may display challenging behaviours.

  • Willingness to Learn: A proactive attitude towards learning new skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and training.

  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while contributing your own ideas.

  • Candidates must be willing to undergo safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
