Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Graduate Teaching Assistants to start in September 2024, offering full-time, part-time, and flexible shifts. We'll match you to the right school and role based on your circumstances.

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in education by providing children with the additional support they need to meet and exceed their educational targets.

You'll assist pupils aged 11-16, working one-on-one, in small groups, or in mainstream classes. You'll get to know the pupils' educational needs and provide the best support with school and SENCO information. In this role you will support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN). Experience with ALN is a plus but not required, as we offer summer training courses.

The Role:

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant within Secondary Schools
  • Hours approximately 8:30am – 3:30pm per day
  • Term time only
  • Newport – your choice of school within the following areas: NP18, NP19, NP10, or NP20.
  • £12.82 – £14.88 per hour (dependant on experience)

Ideal Graduate Teaching Assistants will:

  • Have experience working with children and young people (can be voluntary or personal)
  • Have a confident and friendly personality
  • Possess resilience to overcome challenges
  • Remain calm in stressful situations
  • Demonstrate empathy and care for the children and young people they work with

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
