Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position is available for an immediate start and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be a key part of the educational support team, working closely with teachers and students to enhance the learning experience. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting, possibly as a step towards a career in teaching or education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering lessons by providing one-on-one and small group support to students. You will help to clarify concepts, answer questions, and ensure that all students are engaged and on task.

  • Learning Assistance: Work with students who may need extra help to reach their full potential. This includes supporting students with additional learning needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.

  • Resource Preparation: Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources. You will help to create engaging and effective learning materials that cater to the diverse needs of students.

  • Behaviour Management: Support the implementation of the school's behaviour policies by helping to maintain a positive and focused classroom environment. You will assist in managing student behaviour and promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.

  • Extracurricular Activities: Get involved in the wider school community by supporting extracurricular activities, clubs, and events. This is a great opportunity to build rapport with students and staff while contributing to the school's vibrant culture.

  • Progress Monitoring: Help to track student progress and provide feedback to teachers. You will assist in identifying areas where students may need additional support and contribute to the development of individual learning plans.

  • Pastoral Support: Provide pastoral care to students, offering guidance and support on both academic and personal issues. You will be a point of contact for students who may need someone to talk to or seek advice.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff, learning support assistants, and the pastoral team to ensure that students receive the best possible support. You will be part of a collaborative effort to help all students succeed.

Requirements:

  • A degree in any discipline, with a strong academic record.
  • A genuine interest in education and a desire to work with young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the needs of different students and situations.
  • Experience working with young people, whether in a school setting or through extracurricular activities, is highly desirable.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
