Teaching Personnel is looking for motivated Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream schools across Torquay and Paignton, supporting children with Autism and other learning needs.

About the Role: As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students who require additional support to help them succeed in a mainstream classroom environment. This role is perfect for those seeking hands-on experience in education, particularly if you are interested in a career in teaching or special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with Autism and other learning needs
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored educational activities
  • Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure pupils are engaged
  • Support pupils’ emotional and social development

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team
