Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our client secondary school based in Old Trafford. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning within the school, working closely with both students and teachers.

This role will start after the summer holiday, in January and will run full-time until the end of the academic year, in July 2025.

We encourage graduates wanting to gain experience prior to starting a PGCE to apply. Depending on how a successful candidate gets on in school, they may be welcomed back to complete one of their placements within the school while doing teacher training.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting various departments in planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional help
  • Conducting small group activities to reinforce learning objectives
  • Marking and providing constructive feedback on student work
  • Supporting students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Promoting a positive learning environment within the classroom
  • Collaborating with teachers to create resources and materials for lessons

Requirements:

  • A degree in any subject
  • Previous experience working with secondary school students is beneficial
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
