Job Salary: £53,380 - £58,958 per annum

Contract Type: Full time, permanent

 

Teaching Personnel Permanent Workforce Team are currently working alongside an Academy in Birmingham who are currently seeking a permanent Head of DT from September 2024. As a committed professional, you will have the opportunity to teach our fantastic students aged 11 - 18. The successful applicant will be a motivated and enthusiastic teacher who has a positive and open approach to learning. This post is suitable for an experienced teacher or ECT. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
  • To share and support the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth whilst fostering the academy’s ethos providing equal opportunities for all.
  • To take an active responsibility for the safeguarding and welfare of all students and young people within the academy.
  • Consistently teach high quality lessons.
  • Deliver the curriculum in line with the relevant key stage groups.
  • Identify individual student capabilities, plan and distinguish teaching methods appropriately to build and develop student learning.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching materials and programmes of study

 

Requirements:

  • A UK Teaching Qualification with QTS is essential for this role and will not be considered without.
  • Prior experience within a Leadership role teaching Design & Technology.
  • Prior experience teaching GCSE Design & Technology within a Secondary School setting.
  • Hold a minimum Bachelors degree within the subject
  • Have an up to date DBS registered on the Update Service or issued within 3 weeks.
