The PWR team at Teaching Personnel are working closely with an Academy in Chatham, Kent, seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Head of Design Technology starting from September 2024. About the Role:

As the Head of Design Technology, you will play a pivotal role in providing outstanding education at the Academy. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Curriculum Leadership: Implementing an engaging and effective curriculum that enthuses and engages students of all abilities and ages, while maintaining high expectations to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
  • Team Leadership: Leading by example, developing, inspiring, and motivating your team to achieve high standards.
  • Continued Improvement: Continuing the improvement journey of the department, building upon its successes and striving for excellence.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Qualified Teacher of Design Technology and Engineering able to deliver up to Key Stage 5.
  • Thorough knowledge of present curriculum developments, particularly those relating to your subject.
  • Good or Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour.
  • Collaboration skills to work with other leaders and managers in raising standards within the curriculum to Good and Outstanding levels for all student groups.
