Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialisation in Geography.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of Geography teachers.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to promoting the values and ethos of the school.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will lead the Geography department, overseeing curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment.
  • They will mentor and support Geography teachers, promoting high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cross-curricular opportunities and enrichment activities in Geography.
  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support student achievement and engagement in Geography.
  • Organise and participate in Geography-related events, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Lead by example in upholding the school's policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and behaviour management.
