About the School:
We are working closely with a highly regarded, Ofsted-graded 'Good' High School located in Reading. The school is committed to delivering exceptional education and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for both staff and students. As part of their continuous growth and commitment to excellence, the school is looking to appoint an experienced and passionate Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead and inspire their dynamic MFL department.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the MFL department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced MFL leader who is eager to drive forward educational standards, innovate within the curriculum, and play a pivotal role in the academic and personal development of students. The Head of MFL will:

  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality language teaching across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a robust and engaging MFL curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Lead and support the professional development of department staff, fostering a collaborative and aspirational team culture.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching standards and student progress, using data to inform departmental strategies.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to contribute to the broader educational vision of the school.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of success in teaching MFL at secondary level.
  • Experience in a leadership or management role within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the MFL curriculum and a passion for promoting language learning.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning standards.
