Join Our Team as a Non-Teaching Head of Year – January 2025 Start

Are you passionate about supporting students' personal development and well-being? Do you have the leadership skills to make a positive impact on young people’s lives?

A Secondary school in Darwen is seeking a dedicated and dynamic non-teaching Head of Year to join our team from January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and empathetic individual to play a vital role in our pastoral team, guiding students to reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding pastoral care to a year group, supporting their social, emotional, and academic progress.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure students’ well-being and address any barriers to learning.
  • Lead on behaviour management, attendance, and student engagement strategies, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for students, fostering strong relationships and encouraging personal growth.
  • Organise and lead year group assemblies, events, and extracurricular activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in working with young people in an educational or pastoral role.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A proactive and resilient approach to problem-solving and supporting students' needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
